orcas.live text messages

Business owners can keep their hours up to date by text message. This page explains the program, what we send, what it costs, and how to stop.

How to join

Text CLAIM to (360) 317-2650 from the phone number listed for your business. We reply asking you to confirm your business. Reply YES to opt in. You are not texted before you opt in.

1. You text: CLAIM
2. We reply: “Is this [Your Business]? Reply YES to link it to this number.”
3. You text: YES
4. We reply: “Thanks! [Your Business] is linked to this number. Text your hours anytime (like: Fri-Sat 11-9, Sun closed). I'll check in each Sunday.”

By replying YES you agree to receive text messages from orcas.live about your business listing at the number you texted from. Consent is not a condition of any purchase, and there is nothing to purchase.

What you will receive

About one message a week asking you to confirm or update your business hours, plus replies to messages you send us (for example, confirming new hours, a closed-today notice, or an event you add). Message frequency varies with how often you text us. We do not send marketing or promotional messages, and we do not text customers or the public.

Commands

• Fri-Sat 11-9, Sun closed sends new hours. We repeat them back and save them only after you reply YES.
• SAME confirms your hours are unchanged.
• CLOSED TODAY marks your business closed for the day.
• EVENT Fri 7pm live music adds an event.
• HELP for help, STOP to opt out.

Costs

Message and data rates may apply, according to your mobile plan. orcas.live does not charge for this service.

How to stop

Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages. You will get one confirmation and nothing more. To start again, reply START. For help, reply HELP or contact us at c@orcode.io.

Privacy

We use your phone number and the messages you send us only to link you to your business listing and to update the hours and events shown on orcas.live. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties for their marketing. Phone numbers and the consent you give by text are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Messages are sent and received through our messaging provider, Twilio, and stored with our database and hosting providers, which process them on our behalf. We keep message records so we can show your consent and correct mistakes. To ask us to delete your records, contact c@orcode.io.

This service is provided free of charge and as is. We may change or end it at any time. Hours shown on orcas.live come from business owners and public sources and may be out of date; please check with the business before you visit.
